Rule Publication Update

A new federal immigration rule has been published with an effective date of September 15, 2026.

This new rule will replace Duration of Status (D/S) with a fixed date for admissions into the U.S. for certain visa types, including F-1 student visa holders. There are also additional changes to educational requirements such as transfers, change of major, and changes to degree level.

Jessica began her higher education experience as an international student in South Korea and has been supporting international students in the Denton area for over three years.
She is currently studying Italian and knows foundational ASL.
In her free time, Jessica enjoys crafting, spending time with her dog, and running a custom D&D campaign for her friends.

Part-Time International Student Advisor

Originally from Sri Lanka, Zaynab came to the U.S. with her husband on an F-2 visa and later became an F-1 student. She now works part-time as an International Student Advisor at NCTC.
She is fluent in English, Tamil, and Sinhala.
A mom of two, she enjoys staying connected with family back home, cooking and watching movies in her free time.

Below are the estimated expenses for two academic semesters (9 months). International students must show the total amount in USD in financial support before they can be admitted to NCTC. Summer tuition and additional expenses/fees for certain programs are not included in this estimate.

Academic Advising

International Admissions is responsible for enrolling international students in courses; however, we recommend meeting with an Academic Advisor who can help you figure out what classes to register for before submitting a registration request to our office.
