I-901 SEVIS Fee
The first step to getting your F-1 visa is to submit payment for the I-901 SEVIS Fee. Once you have received your acceptance letter and I-20 from NCTC, you will need to visit the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement website to pay your I-901 fee.
Visa Interview
After paying your SEVIS fee, you can schedule your visa appointment!
Search www.usembassy.gov to find a consulate or embassy in your country.
When going to your visa interview, take the following documents with you:
- Visa Application (Form DS-160 confirmation page with bar code)
- Visa Application Fee Payment Receipt
- I-901 SEVIS Fee Payment Receipt
- NCTC Acceptance Letter
- Valid Passport
- Original Initial I-20 from NCTC Signed and Dated
- Original Bank Statements or Letter
- Original Statement of Financial Support and Affidavit of Sponsor Providing Free Room and Board Form (If applicable)
- Proof of English Proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or Pearson PTE scores, or TOEFL Exemption Form)
- Academic transcripts and/or diploma from current and/or previous institutions.
Additional documents may be required depending on country/embassy. Please check the U.S. embassy website for you country to ensure you have all the documents you need for your appointment.
Arriving in the U.S.
F-1 Students can arrive in the U.S. up to 30 days prior to the program start date listed on their I-20.
After arriving in the U.S., email the following documents to international@nctc.edu:
- F-1 Visa
- Signed and Dated I-20
- Most Recent I-94
- Proof of Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination (if not already submitted)
- TSI Scores
Once all remaining requirements are met, you can be registered for classes.
