North Central Texas College Celebrates Spring 2026 Graduates
North Central Texas College (NCTC) honored its Spring 2026 graduates during its commencement ceremony Saturday, May 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the University of North Texas Coliseum.
The ceremony also featured a special recognition as NCTC conferred an honorary degree to Commissioner Bobbie J. Mitchell, recognizing her decades of impactful public service and leadership in Denton County. Commissioner Mitchell has contributed over thirty years to public service, serving as Denton County Commissioner for Precinct 3 since 2000. Her notable career includes serving as Mayor of Lewisville from 1993 to 2000 and serving on the Lewisville City Council. A proud alumna of North Central Texas College, Commissioner Mitchell was previously honored with the F.M. Hemphill Distinguished Alumni Award in 2017, the institution’s highest recognition for former students.
A total of 508 students crossed the stage to receive their diplomas, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys. Among the graduates, 17 students earned the prestigious Summa Cum Laude distinction for achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA: Benjamin Eric Ashford, Dawn Wallis Aguirre, Hannah Faith Cox, Anna Christina Diaz, Emma Farmer, Travis Truman Fletcher, Stacie Lynn Gafford, Melissa Dayanit Zamora Maradiaga, Ava McConnell, Ava Molina, Jackson James Otts, Pranjal Paneru, Kyndrah Nikkohl Ryan, Chase Taylor Smith, Melody Sommers, Izadora Willis, and Abriana Wagner.
An additional 17 graduates earned Magna Cum Laude distinction for achieving GPA’s between 3.90 and 3.99, including Nia Bakari, Rienn Joe Gonzales, Maddison Grimes, Mia Harrington, Elizabeth Grace Horn, Lizbeth Jurado, Savannah Lyons, Fatima Munawar, Logan Marie Noller, Jessica Grace Ortiz, Aidan Pearson, Stephanie Rios, Colton Sanders, Joseph Starrett, Addison Thomas, Jenna Thompson, and Daphne Yildirim.
NCTC Chancellor Dr. Brent Wallace delivered the commencement address and conferred degrees upon the graduating class, recognizing students for their perseverance, dedication, and academic success.
