NCTC Welcomes New Director of Small Business Development Center
The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at NCTC is proud to welcome Roger Swift, a dynamic and results-driven leader, to a key leadership role supporting small business development across the region.
Swift brings a wealth of experience spanning banking, accounting, and entrepreneurship, along with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams. His diverse background provides a strategic and well-rounded perspective as he works to strengthen and support the small business community throughout North Texas.
Leadership and Industry Experience
Swift began his career in banking, where he spent 15 years advancing through leadership roles at Citibank. During that time, he developed deep expertise in accounting, finance, and lending.
After earning his MBA in Accounting, Swift joined a CPA firm, where he played a critical role in overseeing two major acquisitions that significantly increased firm revenue. His leadership and contributions led to his selection as one of four partners before the firm was ultimately acquired by Marcum, a nationally recognized accounting organization.
He later transitioned into entrepreneurship, purchasing and operating a business in Hawaii. When the COVID-19 pandemic forced a temporary closure of his business for seven months, Swift turned to the Small Business Development Center for support. Through access to critical resources and expert guidance, his business not only recovered but exceeded its previous revenue—an experience that now drives his passion for helping other entrepreneurs succeed.
SBDC Leadership and Impact
Swift joined the North Central Texas SBDC as a Business Advisor in 2020, during one of the most challenging periods for small businesses. Known for his ability to recognize potential in others, he has helped numerous business owners navigate uncertainty, build confidence, and position their companies for sustainable growth.
His expertise includes developing tailored financial projections, fostering strong relationships with clients and lenders, and guiding strategic business planning.
In recognition of his impact, Swift was named the 2024 SBDC State Star Award recipient—the highest level of individual recognition within the SBDC program—honoring his significant contributions to economic development and the success of the network.
Since joining the SBDC, Swift has consistently ranked among the top contributors to program delivery, underscoring his commitment to advancing small business success across North Texas.
The North Texas SBDC Network also extends its sincere appreciation to North Central Texas College for its continued partnership and support.
Swift’s unique blend of corporate leadership, entrepreneurial insight, and client-focused service positions him to further advance the shared mission of North Central Texas College, the North Texas SBDC, and the U.S. Small Business Administration to empower and grow small businesses.
“We are proud to welcome Roger Swift as a key member of our leadership team and look forward to the continued impact of his work in supporting entrepreneurs throughout the region.”
