TRIO Student Support Services
The Student Support Services program is a federally-funded college opportunity program that motivates and supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds in their pursuit of a college degree. The program is dedicated to increasing the retention and graduation rates for low income, first-generation, and/or students with documented disabilities at North Central Texas College.

Objectives
Persistence
75% of all participants served by the SSS project will persist from one academic year to the beginning of the next academic year or graduate and/or transfer from NCTC to a 4-year institution during the academic year.
Good Academic Standing
74.9% of all enrolled participants served by the SSS project will meet the performance level required to stay in good academic standing at the institution.
Graduation
26.5% of new participants served each year will graduate with an associate’s degree or certificate within four years, and 19.2% of the new participants served each year will transfer with an associate’s degree or certificate within four years.
Services
Academic, Financial, and Personal advising aimed at helping students reach peak holistic wellness
Individual and Group tutoring for various subjects based on individual student needs
Assistance in identifying career goals, career planning, and resume building
Understanding degree programs and requirements in preparation for transfer to 4-year institutions
Activities aimed at personal growth and designed to broaden and enrich students' cultural awareness
Workshops on a variety of topics to help students develop important academic and personal skills for success
Organized campus visits to major universities with the goal of connecting students to institutions that align with their academic goals
* This grant has been 100% federally funded by the United States Department of Education to serve 165 participants annually.
