The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) lets you receive college credit for course information you already know. CLEP offers 33 exams, the complete list of which is offered at College Board CLEP.
The CLEP is computerized and offered by appointment only. Before making a CLEP appointment, you must first have a registration ticket number provided by CLEP once your payment is completed at College Board CLEP.
NCTC administers the College Level Placement Exam (CLEP) at the Gainesville Campus by appointment only.
There are TWO testing fees required for the CLEP exam, the cost includes an institution fee of $15.00 for each test payable to NCTC and an examination fee of $89.00 for each test payable to CLEP.
To register to take a CLEP exam:
Go to www.collegeboard.org/clep.
Click on “Create an Account” in the upper right corner of the screen
Provide all requested information. On this site you will both register for your CLEP exam and submit the $89.00 CLEP testing fee payment.
Pay the $15.00 Institutional fee through this register blast system.
Fees
Each CLEP exam is $104, $89 paid in advance to CLEP when you pre-register for your exam, and $15 paid to NCTC by cash or check on the day of your CLEP exam.
Identification
On the day of the test you are required to bring an un-expired driver’s license or state ID as primary identification it must include your name, date of birth, signature, and a recognizable photograph.
Time Duration
CLEP exams are approximately one hour and thirty minutes and you are allowed to leave if you finish before the end of the time period.
Test Results
Test scores will be available by computer printout once you have completed the test. Official Transcripts should arrive to your institution within 15 business days.
Retest*
You must wait at least 90 days to retest on the same subject.
