What is a Resume?

Your resume is a personal flyer and marketing tool whose purpose is to communicate to an employer that you are a qualified candidate for a position that you are applying for. The contents of your resume should include an overview of your:

  • Accomplishments

  • Knowledge

  • Skills and Abilities

  • Education

  • Experience

Most importantly, your resume should be tailored to the job description that you are interested in applying for.

Download our Resume Rubric to get some ideas of what to include in your resume or to see if your existing resume is “NCTC Lion Ready!”
