Jumpstart your career as an Automotive technician with NCTC’s three-semester long Automotive program. Our Occupational Skills Award (OSA) provides a foundational knowledge of automobile service, electrical, and braking systems. Take that skill set and apply it to a professional role as a Automotive Mechanic or in Automotive Sales. Each concentration track verses students in top industry practices and standards with well-respected professors who have in-depth knowledge of the trade.

Designed to be completed between the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters, you will learn the fundamental skills to obtain gainful employment in the automotive industry upon graduation.

Career Outlook:

  • Automotive Mechanics are tasked with diagnosing and repairing automotive vehicles, with the occasional need to completely overhaul the vehicle. With the knowledge to inspect a vehicle and determine the proper treatment plan, your career as a mechanic would entail repairing the system to adhere to manufacturer specifications for safe operation.

  • Automotive Sales would require you to be in direct contact with the consumer as you greet them and work to understand their vehicular needs. With a knowledge of various manufacturers and operation systems, an automotive salesperson will be able to recommend, search for and help obtain a vehicle that will be compatible with their individualized search.
