North Central Texas Small Business Development Center named SBDC of the Year

The North Central Texas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) was recently named 2022 SBDC of the year by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the SBDC North Texas Regional Office. The SBDC of the Year is awarded regionally and supported by the SBA Dallas/Fort Worth District office to acknowledge and recognize those centers who serve as advocates for advancing opportunities for entrepreneurial development.

The North Central Texas SBDC, surpassed performance goals, built small businesses, developed SBDC programming for success and serves as a champion for small businesses. In just the first 8 months of their fiscal year so far, the staff of the North Central Texas SBDC has exceeded their capital infusion goal by 221% and their number of jobs created goal by 232%, helping start 48 new businesses and creating over 230 full and part-time jobs in their service area.

They have also already met and surpassed their goals for number of unique clients, new businesses started and jobs supported. The North Central Texas SBDC is on track to again far surpass each of their six performance goals for the 21-22 FY.

North Central Texas SBDC Director Lori Logan credits this award and their yearly success to her “Dream Team” of staff, business advisors, and administrative specialist. “Our team is highly knowledgeable and provides outstanding advising and resources as they serve our community and small businesses exceptionally well,” said Logan. “Each person on the NCT SBDC team member has a heart for service and small business success.”

The North Central Texas SBDC, hosted by North Central Texas College, provides advising, training and educational resources to existing small businesses and entrepreneurs wanting to start a business venture. NCT SBDC resources are provided at No Cost, confidential, customized and available to all residents of Cooke, Denton and Montague counties.
