VTHT 1291 - SPECIAL TOPICS IN VETERINARIAN ASSISTANT/ANIMAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN

Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student.  This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency. 

Upon successful completion, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate care and handling of large animals

  • Identify husbandry techniques for cattle and large animals 

  • Prepare for the BQA certification exam.

Prerequisites: (Program prerequisites) BIOL  1406 or 1408; MATH 1314 or 1324; ENGL 1301 or 2311; VTHT 1301 

Restrictions: Grade “C” or better in prerequisite courses
