NCTC Drama to hold auditions

NCTC Drama will hold auditions on September 11 & 12 at 6:30 PM at the First State Bank Center for the Performing Arts for their Fall production of The Life and Times of Ignorance Christmas, adapted by Thom Talbott-Garcia and directed by Missy Embrey.  The auditions are looking for 12 actors (6 men and 6 women) to play 44 different parts during the play.

The production is labeled as a New Erroneous Comedy by Charles Dickens. As director, Missy Embrey says, “I want this show to be a fun and festive romp through the universe of Charles Dickens. There is no Bachelor’s degree in English required to understand and love these characters you may have only heard of through pop culture. It’s truly fun for all ages.”

Thom Talbott-Garcia, the playwright, had this to say about this stage adaptation, “I have always loved Charles Dickens and his use of wild eccentric characters. Ignorance Christmas allows me to take all of my old favorites and add them in with some new characters and create a wild time for all that will remind you of the importance of the holidays.”

There will be two presentations of the production for the holiday season. November 17 at 7:30 and November 18 & 19 at 2:30 PM at the First State Bank Center for the Performing Arts and on December 1 & 2 at 7:30 PM and December 3 at 2:30 PM at the NCTC Denton Black Box Theater.

Call (940) 668-3318 for more information or contact Missy Embrey at membrey@nctc.edu.
