INTEGRATED READING & WRITING (INRW)

NCTC offers two options for students who are not TSI met.

INRW 0305: Integrated Reading and Writing
This course is designed for students who might struggle with college-level reading and writing assignments. Students in this course might need a bit more time and support in order to understand a text. They might need help with understanding the vocabulary or they may feel nervous reading and writing in English. This is not a credit course. Instead, students take this course so that they are more successful in their credit courses.

INRW 0310: Integrated Reading
This course is designed to help students who feel prepared enough to enroll in a college-level English course (ENGL 1301: Composition I) but would like additional support from an English instructor to help them with the reading and writing assignments. This is not a credit course; however, students take this course in conjunction with ENGL 1301 to earn college credit.

INRW Multiple Measures Assessment

Students who place in INRW 0305 because of their TSI scores have the option of completing an online questionnaire to determine if they should be moved up to INRW 0310 + ENGL 1301.

If you're enrolled in INRW 0305 and believe that you would do well to move up into a credit course (with support), please complete the INRW Multiple Measures Assessment and the department chair will follow up with you.
