Work Study

Federal Work-Study (FWS) and Texas College Work-Study (CWS) are work programs where the student is eligible to earn up to the amount listed on his/her award letter. All jobs are located on various campus locations.

Get Hired.

  1. Students will be required to fill out a FAFSA in order to determine eligibility for the work-study program which is based upon students financial need and complete all required (if any) verification.

  2. Go to employment.nctc.edu to view all open Work-study positions. Complete the application for the job(s) you are interested in.

  3. Your Financial Aid work-study application will be reviewed and approved through the Financial Aid department. From there it will be forwarded to the appropriate NCTC departments for screening.

If chosen for the position, the hiring manager will call you to let you know that you have been hired and discuss schedule availability.

Download the work study packet and complete it. Once you have it completed, bring it in to the financial aid office along with a valid state issued identification card and your social security card.

Getting Paid

Timesheets are due the 1st of each month for the previous month's work. Students can work up to a maximum of 19 hours a week. Work-study Timesheets verify that you have worked the allotted numbers of hours so that payment can be made. Time sheets must be completed by the student and signed by his/her supervisor. Timesheets must be turned into the Financial Aid Office by noon on the 1st to be paid on the 25th. It is recommended that you keep a copy of your time sheet for your records. Work-study paychecks can either be direct deposited to your personal account or you will receive a pay card.

Late time sheets will be paid the following month.
