State authorization for distance education
North Central Texas College (NCTC) is a participating member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). As a member of NC-SARA, NCTC is authorized to offer distance education courses and programs to students residing outside the state of Texas.
This participation ensures that NCTC can provide online learning opportunities across state lines while meeting a shared set of high standards for consumer protection and institutional quality.
NCTC Professional Licensure and Certification Disclosures
NoAs a participant in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), North Central Texas College (NCTC) is required to provide disclosures regarding whether our academic programs meet the educational requirements for professional licensure or certification in other states.

Student Responsibility
Licensure requirements vary by state. Students are responsible for confirming with the appropriate licensing board whether a program meets requirements in the state where they plan to work or seek licensure.
If NCTC has not made a determination for your state, we recommend contacting the appropriate state licensing agency for guidance. NCTC provides links to state boards when applicable.

Student Complaint Process (SARA)
Students enrolled in NCTC distance education programs who reside in a SARA state may submit complaints using the following process:
1. Attempt to resolve the complaint using NCTC’s internal grievance process.
2. If unresolved, students may submit a complaint to the Texas SARA State Portal Entity.
3. Complaints must be submitted within 2 years of the incident and do not cover grade disputes or student conduct issues.
