WLDG 1323 - WELDING SAFETY, TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

An introduction to welding equipment and safety practices, including OSHA standards for industry.

Note: WLDG 1323 applies to the Petroleum Technology program or may be taken as a stand alone course. It is not a part of the Welding Certificate or AAS Degree.

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • Apply welding safety practices, OSHA and the Hazardous Communications Act, and DS

  • List hazards associated with welding equipment and processes

  • Use and maintain tools and equipment

  • Identify hazards associated with gases, fluxes, electrodes and equipment

  • Explain different welding processes and their operation
