The Gainesville Kiwanis Club presented NCTC Vice Chancellor of External Affairs Debbie Sharp with a $2,000 donation to their endowed scholarship at North Central Texas College.

The Kiwanis Club established their Gainesville Kiwanis Club Scholarship in 2003 to assist Cooke County students who are involved in community service.  The Gainesville Kiwanis Club Scholarship has awarded 46 scholarships valued at $15,900. Last year, the Kiwanis Club donated an additional $2,000 to the Johnny Leftwich Kiwanis Club Scholarships, awarding two $1,000 scholarships during the 2019-2020 school year.

Sharp attended this weeks’ Kiwanis Club meeting and was presented the check. She gave the program at the meeting and thanked the Kiwanis Club for their long-time support of the college and the foundation.  “The Gainesville Kiwanis Club was instrumental in the establishment of the college in 1924,” said Sharp, “and their continued support has helped our students gain their education. The club not only impacts our students, but their families, their communities and the workforce.”
