In celebration of Pride month, North Central Texas College's newly formed Pride Education, Advocacy, and Knowledge (PEAK) Employee Resource Group is proud to announce Sashay 6FT Away: Live Virtual Drag Show on Thursday, June 18 at 7:30 pm, featuring performances from local and out of county Queens and special guests sharing their experiences and expertise within the LGBTQ+ community.

PEAK is a group of NCTC faculty and staff meant to foster student engagement, inclusion and institutional excellence by focusing on diversity and representation of the LGBTQ+ population in all aspects of the campus community. Traditionally, drag performers receive tips throughout their performances, for this show, tips can be given in the form of donations to the PEAK Excellence Fund at NCTC, providing scholarships, emergency relief, and educational aid specifically for the NCTC district's LGBTQ+ community.

PEAK was formed this April, under the Division of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), and I am so proud to be a part of it,” said NCTC Director of Student Engagement Daisy Garcia. “As employees, we have created such a great bond within our brave space, that I know will transcend to our LGBTQ+ students. If PEAK has been able to thrive during a pandemic, I can’t wait to see our accomplishments in the future!”

The show can be streamed free via this YouTube link on the NCTC webpage ( and can be found on NCTC Student Life social media sites (FB/Instagram: @lifeatnctc).

“If a student is reading this, I hope you know you have great role models and advocates within PEAK at NCTC that care about you, have been where you are now, and want you to be included,” added Garcia. “If you ever need anything, contact us at I am looking forward to watching the Drag Show (virtually) together with all of you!”
