Graduates honored at Fall 2018 Commencement

GAINESVILLE, TX – North Central Texas College hosted a commencement ceremony on December 14 at the Gainesville campus to honor the Fall 2018 graduates.

The ceremony honored graduates of Health Sciences and Cosmetology programs, Career and Technical Education programs, and graduates of Arts and Sciences programs.

More than 400 students applied for graduation at NCTC this fall and 174 participated in the graduation ceremony.

Ten students graduated Summa Cum Laude with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 4.00. They included Victoria Brown, William Coe, Emmanuelli Elmahmoud, Shannon Hergenrader, Jessica Meeks, Matthew Muller, Natalie Ramsey, Shannon Stacy, David Stein, and Jason Wohlgemuth.

Six other students graduated Magna Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.90-3.99. They included Desiree Collins, Kelly Cunningham, Jeremy Green, Earli Price, Robert Roth, and Shelby Williams.

Graduating from the NCTC Honors Program was Miranda Kaylor.

NCTC Provost Dr. Andrew Fisher presented the certification of graduates for the Class of 2018, and NCTC Chancellor Dr. Brent Wallace conferred the degrees.

NCTC Dean of Health Sciences Dr. Bonita Vinson delivered the keynote message to the graduates, speaking on how community college saved her life.

The NCTC Choir, led by Shane Studdard, sang the National Anthem, and the NCTC Wind Ensemble, led by Chris McGinty, provided music before the ceremony.
