We get tons of questions daily about this exciting new development.
Whether you’re a student, parent or neighbor, it’s good to know the facts.

Here are some we have compiled:

  • The Exchange will be located in the former Denton Record Chronicle building at 316 E. Hickory Street.
  • The official name for the downtown campus is First State Bank Exchange at North Central Texas College. NCTC received a million dollar donation from the First State Bank for the naming of this facility. These funds will be used to offset the FF&E cost of the facility.

  • North Central Texas College will utilize 45,214 sq. ft. of this facility to offer academic programs and services.
  • Transfer degrees including the Associate of Arts (AA), and the Associate of Science (AS) will be taught at the First State Bank Exchange to provide quality freshman and sophomore level courses in the arts and sciences that parallel the lower division offerings at our partnering universities.
  • NCTC will offer accelerated terms with eight-week courses schedules.
  • Cohort learning environments will be structured to increase student success by providing peer support systems.
  • Students will also be able to complete core courses required for technical and workforce programs offered at NCTC.
  • Dual credit offerings will also be available.
  • Through strong partnerships with University of North Texas (UNT) and Texas Woman’s University (TWU) students will be able to concurrently enroll to take classes at the Exchange and at the university.
  • The total construction and design/fee cost is estimated to be $12.2 million
  • The Exchange will house six classrooms, three large lecture rooms, a testing center, conference room and faculty/staff offices.
  • Mane StopThere will be a Mane Stop in the Exchange, which will serve as the first point of contact for new and returning students.
  • Enrollment guides will also be available to assist students with all processes.
  • A separate four-story 99,022 sq. ft. parking garage will be constructed for student/faculty/staff parking.
  • The parking garage will have 306 spaces. After hours and on weekends, the parking garage may be available for public parking for a nominal fee.
  • Understanding the parking demands in downtown Denton, NCTC will encourage students, faculty and staff to utilize public transportation with the close proximity of the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) A-train station down the street.
  • The First State Bank Exchange is a great opportunity for NCTC to expand its presence in Denton County and to provide additional educational opportunities.
