NCTC may not have been your first stop, but we're glad you're here now! Coming to us from any other college or university qualifies you as a transfer student.


As a transfer student, you will need to complete many of the following steps. Financial aid, housing, and scholarships are all optional resources!

Step Two: Submit Transcripts

Submit ALL transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. Transcripts must be official; no faxed copies accepted. Electronic transcripts sent directly from the institution or a third-party vendor are acceptable.

Step Three: TSI Scores

You may need to complete the testing requirements for the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) and submit your scores to the Admissions Office.

Step Four: Meningitis Vaccine

If you are under 22, you may need to provide the Admissions Office with record of having received a meningitis vaccination.

Step Five: Register for Classes

When you're cleared for registration, meet with an advisor to help decide your major and choose classes that will set you on the most successful pathway. Walk-ins are welcome at the Counseling & Testing Office.

Step Six: Get Your Parking Pass

Beginning Fall 2019 parking permits will be required on all campuses.

Step Seven: Transfer Orientation

Students will receive an email from Admissions with a Transfer 101 Orientation link to their personal email on file after they have applied to NCTC.  Please look out for this email and complete Transfer 101. 

While you're waiting to be accepted, use this time to start the steps below.

Step Eight: Financial Aid

One of the best ways of securing financial aid is to fill out the FAFSA online. The Financial Aid Office will help you find other resources to pay your expenses.

Step Nine: Scholarships

You can search and apply for scholarships online with our Scholarship Application Portal or contact the Financial Aid Office, the NCTC Foundation, or any academic department.
