Data Bits

Each month, the NCTC ATD Committee will share “bits” of institutional data related to student success that may or may not be commonly known by the NCTC community. These data bits will help shape and inform the direction of NCTC’s Achieving the Dream work as well as educating the larger NCTC community.

The “September Data Bit” provided A Snapshot of NCTC Students and Financial Aid from the most recent IPEDS College Navigator Cohort. With this data bit, the Total Amount of Aid received (third column) is the total amount of aid NCTC as the institution receives per year, and the last column is the average amount of aid received per student per year.

ATD Institutional Capacity Assessment Tool (ICAT)

The “October Data Bit” provided an introduction of the ATD ICAT, a self-assessment tool based on the seven capacities ATD determined that a college needs to be successful in meeting its goals to improve student success and build a student focused culture.  The entire campus community was encouraged to take the self-assessment tool to provide a good assessment about the college from all aspects of the framework.
