Band

Wind ensemble performs at NCTC Gala.

NCTC Music offers two band ensembles for wind and percussion students—the Wind Ensemble and the Jazz Band.

The Wind Ensemble is devoted to the rehearsal, study, and performance of important band literature with musical understanding and artistic intent. The Jazz Band performs a varied repertoire, including big band swing and contemporary jazz, through concerts on campus and at other venues.

Instrumental ensembles are open to all students with interest and experience, by audition. You do not need to be a “music major” to be a member of the group!

For Fall 2021, non-music majors are only required to attend once per week—Tuesdays from 12:30 – 2:20 PM on the Gainesville Campus. Music Majors will attend an additional Thursday rehearsal for Wind Ensemble. This semester’s Jazz Band will meet at the Denton Campus on Monday nights from 6:00 - 8:30 PM.

Scholarships are available!
