NCTC Drama is proud to announce our virtual production of the hit off-broadway show, Puffs by Matt Cox on June 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, and 27 at 7:30 pm. The production will be streamed live on each of those dates. Puffs is directed by Thom Talbott with technical direction/sound design by Missy Embrey and light design/stage management by Austin Creswell.

Puffs is a tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs … who just happened to be there too. This clever and inventive play gives you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers. Their hilariously heartfelt and epic journey takes the classic story to new places and reimagines what a wizard hero can be.

Cast in the production are Justin Hinton (Wayne), Philip Cuellar (Oliver), Brynna Fielder (Megan), Arturo Garcia Jr. (Narrator), Tony Johnson (Ernie Mac/Others), Carlie Cleveland (Hannah/Others), Matt Meade (J. Finch/ Others), Percie Carrillo (Leanne/Others), Emma Stevens (Sally Perks/Others), Victoria Smith (Susie Bones/Others), and Joseph Nordman (Cedric/Others)

In light of the ongoing issues surrounding the plague-that-shall-not-be-named, the performances of Puffs will be performed via moving portrait using the magic of, well, MAGIC (We’re WIZARDS!!)…and will present it to interested mug borns via “streaming”. We have no idea how mug borns use rivers to view things but we have been told this is a common practice among non-magical folk.

Tickets are $10 per household and available via
