Hickory in Denton Texas.

"The Erroneous Count of Monte Cristo" is based on the classic adventure story by Alexandre Dumas about Edmond Dantès who is framed for a crime he did not commit and imprisoned; however, after a series of farfetched plot devices he escapes from prison, finds a fabulous treasure, and is able to exact a horrendous revenge on those that betrayed him.

An erroneous play gleefully sends up its source material by shrinking it down and then mistelling it to comic effect.

Needed for the production are 3 men and 2 women and the auditions are open to all community members, 16 and up. These actors will be portraying multiple characters that cross the path with our Count.

This production follows last year's successful production, "The Erroneous Moby Dick", that went on to perform at the Orlando International Fringe Festival and the inaugural Rave Theater Festival in New York City.

Productions dates for "The Erroneous Count of Monte Cristo" are February 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29 and March 1 at the Denton Black Box Theater in the First State Bank Exchange at North Central Texas College. Rehearsals will all be held at the Denton Black Box Theater. Please call (940) 668-3355 for more info or email ttalbott@nctc.edu.
