Flower Mound Summit Club establishes endowed scholarship

| May 7, 2019

On Thursday, May 2, North Central Texas College attended the May meeting of the Summit Club of Flower Mound and was presented with a check representing the final installment on a $13,500 pledge to complete the Summit Club’s Endowed Scholarship at NCTC.

“The Summit Club was an early supporter of the NCTC campus in Flower Mound” said Jessica DeRoche, Senior Director of the Flower Mound campus. “In fact, they were the first Flower Mound organization to reach out and welcome NCTC to the area.”

The Summit Club of Flower Mound is a service organization comprised of community leaders and hard-working men dedicated to serving others. Formed in 1974 as a non-political fraternal service organization, today they support many charities and organizations serving the Flower Mound community.

One of the Summit Club’s priorities is education as evidenced by the many Flower Mound middle and high schools who also received their financial support at Thursday’s meeting in continued support of their robotics programs.  Other local non-profits were on hand to receive support from the Summit Club to continue to assist the local community in varying ways. NCTC is excited to have the support of the Summit Club of Flower Mound and looks forward to growing this relationship well into the future.

North Central Texas College, founded in 1924, is the longest continually running community college in Texas. NCTC serves over 17,000 students across six campuses, including three in Denton County. Over 2,000 students are served at the Flower Mound campus alone. NCTC receives no taxpayer money for its Denton County campuses, including Flower Mound, and is supported in large part by its alumni and friends, both individual and corporate, and by organizations like the Summit Club. If you or your organization would like to find out how partnering with NCTC can be mutually beneficial, please contact Jessica DeRoche at jderoche@nctc.edu or Doug Milbauer, Director of Development, at dmilbauer@nctc.edu.
