Medal of Honor Host City establishes scholarship

Elizabeth F. Abu | Apr 8, 2019

The Medal of Honor Host City Program made a donation to the North Central Texas College Foundation this week to establish a scholarship fund.

The initial donation of $5,000 establishes the Medal of Honor Host City Program Scholarship Fund. The program also pledged to give $5,000 for the next two years to fully endow the scholarship at $15,000.

In addition, $500 will be given each year to award an annual scholarship until the Medal of Honor Host City Program Scholarship is fully endowed.

The scholarship will give preference to students attending the Gainesville campus and to students who are veterans, or children or grandchildren of veterans.

Recipients of the Medal of Honor Host City Program Scholarship will be invited to attend the Annual MOH Banquet and speak at this event to thank the donors and share their educational journey.  If possible, the recipient will need to attend this event.

A history fact sheet on the Medal of Honor Host City Program be sent to each recipient when they receive their scholarship award notification.
