NCTC to host Medal of Honor professional development training

Elizabeth F. Abu | Jan 24, 2019

North Central Texas College will host the Medal of Honor Character Development Program on Thursday, March 28, on the Gainesville campus.

This full-day training is free and open to middle school and high school teachers, along with counselors, coaches, and administrators. The training will provide you with all the tools you’ll need to bring the Medal of Honor Character Development Program into your classroom.

The flexible, cross-curricular resources, which use the oral histories of Medal of Honor recipients, focus on how students can use these examples of courage, commitment, sacrifice, integrity, citizenship and patriotism to influence change in their own communities.

Teachers in attendance will receive all resources at no cost, enjoy a complimentary lunch, learn best practices for their classrooms, and can be reimbursed for substitute costs with the submission of an invoice.

The event will be held in the Health Science Building on NCTC’s Gainesville Campus, Room 2423, 1525 W. California Street. The workshop will run from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.
