NCTC Stock Horse Team Named Reserve World Champion

The North Central Texas College Stock Horse Team recently competed at the 2017 Stock Horse of Texas (SHOT) World championship Show.

In the Collegiate Division, NCTC was declared the Reserve World Championship Collegiate Team.

“This year's World Championship Show was the largest in its history, with over 1600 entries,” said NCTC Stock Horse Team Coach Cathy Luse, “so I am elated with our team’s accomplishment!” 

Point earning team members were Reece Rosenaur (Captain), Gillean Nixon (Captain), Hannah Penny, Rieta Dufurrena, Sawyer Sanders, and Victoria Goodson. Other team members who competed very successfully were Freshmen Monty Sperry, Allison Smith and Katie Firmin.

“We had several individual class winners in Reining, Ranch Pleasure, Ranch Trail and Cow Work with all time high scores,” said Luse.
