North Central Texas College is offering special Welding classes this summer at the Bowie High School Ag Building. These night classes will start June 5, 2017 and run all summer from 6 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Registrations are being accepted now at the NCTC Bowie campus.

“We are excited about the opportunity to start our welding program at Bowie High School this summer,” said Industrial Technology Department Chair Kenny Smith. “North Central Texas College has a long history in training welders to meet industry standards, now this training will be available to the students of Bowie High School and open enrollment students in the surrounding area.”

A brand new Industrial Technology Center will be coming to the Bowie campus, offering courses in a variety of industrial topics, including Welding.

“NCTC is looking forward to the opening of the new Industrial Technology Center on the Bowie Campus in 2018,” said CTE Dual Credit Coordinator Danelle Wolf, “but we are very fortunate to be able to start offering Welding classes at Bowie High School this summer until the new building opens. This opportunity will allow Montague County residents to start their Welding career as soon as possible.”

The courses will be approximately $600 each for in-state tuition and FAFSA does apply to these courses.

“This is just the beginning of the training that will be offered in Bowie at the new Industrial Technology Center,” said Smith.
