North Central Texas College to host Socrates Café

Elizabeth F. Dieter | Apr 7, 2017

All are invited to attend a Socrates Café with internationally distinguished speaker and author Christopher Phillips, who travels the world over to discuss matters of the utmost consequence, demonstrating to professors and students alike the importance of the Socratic method for opening the doors of philosophical dialogue and contemplation. Socratic dialogue is one of the oldest and most powerful forms of education, allowing individuals to explore the most profound concepts of human existence through (dia) speaking (logos) and thought-provoking open-ended questioning.

Dr. Phillips will be leading two Socrates Cafés at NCTC on April, 26th 2017. For those in the Gainesville area, please attend his 10:00 - 11:30 am session at the NCTC Health Science Center Lecture Hall. For those in the Corinth area, please attend his 2:00 - 3:30 pm session at the NCTC Corinth Campus Library. For more information about this event, please contact Dr. Leslie Kelley at Lkelley@nctc.edu.
