The North Central Texas College Honors program recently took 14 NCTC students and faculty on an eight-day tour of Italy to Milan, Venice, Florence, Assisi, and Rome.

The tour focused on the history, art, and literature in the country. The tour was in partnership with the Texas Woman's University Honors program and encouraged NCTC and TWU students to develop their global awareness and understanding of other cultures and languages.

"This tour offered NCTC students a unique and affordable opportunity to expand their horizons, to meet new people, and to make connections and contextualize the learning that they do in our classrooms," said NCTC Honors Program Coordinator Rochelle Gregory. "It's a great trip for students because we have partnered with Texas Woman's University to offer an accessible and affordable to experience for our students. We have developed this collaboration with the TWU Honors program for more than three years now, and we even shared our expertise developing this partnership at the National Collegiate Honors Council conference in Denver last November."

The NCTC Honors program is also excited to also announce their upcoming tour for Wintermester 2015 to England and Scotland. The tour is open to all students, faculty, staff, and friends of NCTC. Students who would like to earn Humanities credit on the tour can also register for British Literature II and earn transferable credit while on location and on tour. Financial aid will be available for those students who qualify.

The trip will include visits to Big Ben and Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, Oxford, and Edinburgh Castle. Tour costs include round-trip airfare and on-tour transportation, hotels with private bathrooms, breakfast and dinner daily, a full-time Tour Director, and daily activities, tours and entrances to attractions. More information about the tour can be found at the tour website at and those interested can email Dr. Gregory at
