BOWIE - Good food and good music will highlight the NCTC Montague County Foundation's "Taste of Montague County" in Bowie.

The event is scheduled for Nov. 2 at the Bowie Community Center. Attendees will enjoy food and drinks from restaurants and wineries throughout Montague County starting at 6 p.m., and will then be treated to a concert by Dave Alexander, one of the premiere Western Swing musicians in the world.

Alexander has been named Entertainer of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists. Throughout his successful and award-winning career, this dynamic entertainer has gained the respect of his peers while mesmerizing his audiences with each performance. His talents as a performer are unsurpassed as exemplified by his induction into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame, and his 2004 Male Vocalist of the Year award in 2004 by the Academy of Western Artists. The three-time Grammy nominee remains as one of the nation's top-selling Western artists.

Tickets for the event are $25 and proceeds will benefit the NCTC Health Sciences program through student scholarships.

"This year, the NCTC Foundation has selected the Health Sciences program as the benefactor from the proceeds of this event to be used for scholarships for students," NCTC Vice-President of Institutional Advancement Debbie Sharp said. "We want to invite everyone to join us for an evening of food and entertainment as well as the opportunity to view health-related displays. Last year, this was a great event and guests enjoyed great food from our local restaurants and Dave Alexander and his Swing Band put on an excellent show and we are looking forward to even a bigger and better event this year. We appreciate all of the support from the communities we serve in Montague County."
