GRAHAM - Need more computer skills to help get ahead in your career? North Central Texas College will offer several non-credit course offerings in April and May on the Graham campus with you in mind.

Lifelong Learning, the non-credit division of NCTC, will offer three different computer applications classes in Graham.

Welcome to the World of Computers will introduce students to computer basics such as word processing, Internet browsing and e-mail, including sending, receiving and attaching photos. Classes will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 3-24, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost of the class is $145.

Excel Level 1 teaches participants the basics of Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet program that many employers use to keep track of expenses and inventories. The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 1-10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost of the class is $85.

Excel Level 2 expands on lessons learned in Level 1, including charting, formulas, manipulating large worksheets and more. The class will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, May 22-31, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $85.

"I am so pleased to offer these classes at the Graham campus," NCTC Graham campus director Kim Birdwell said. "NCTC strives to help make students workforce-ready and the computer classes are a big step in the right direction."

For many adults, learning how to use a computer can be a mystery.

"Even 'non-techie' beginners will find it easy to learn computers and Excel in these fun, step-by-step classes," said program coordinator Jim Winslow.
