At the 36th annual Texas Association for Institutional Research (TAIR) conference, North Central Texas College Director of Assessment and Strategic Planning David Brown was elected to serve a two-year term on the executive committee as the member at large for professional development.
“This is exciting for NCTC to have representation at the state level from this association,” Brown said. “It was great to just be nominated for the position. TAIR is a great organization and this year was our largest conference ever with over 300 members.”
The field of institutional research has been evolving in the past 10 years from just institutional research and data, to institutional effectiveness and assessment-related activities and strategies.
Brown has been a member of TAIR since 2006. He has been an active participant in workshops, roundtables and special-interest groups. He has presented institutional research related topics not only at TAIR, but also at conferences for Southern Association of Institutional Research (SAIR), Texas Poise User Group, South Central Poise User Group, and Jenzabar Annual Meeting.
He has also created and maintained the TAIR and SAIR groups on Linkedin to help facilitate member discussions that increase communication among IR professionals.
