e-Learning:

learning that takes place anytime, anywhere

e-Learning, or Distance Education, is an excellent choice for many students. e-Learning allows you to take a course at a time and place of your choosing. Online courses work very well for the disciplined student. They make it possible for some students to attend college who otherwise might not be able to.

If your work schedule is difficult to work around, or if you are a single parent, a busy professional, or have other reasons that prevent you from attending courses on campus, take a look at our online course schedule.

Over 70 online sections are currently offered at NCTC. To see what is expected of you in a specific online course, checkout Online Courses.

Online courses are  similar to traditional courses in that you receive a syllabus, purchase and use a textbook, have regular assignments,  and take exams (online or on campus).  You will  communicate regularly with the instructor  through course mail and discussion forums. Student interaction is also very important in online courses!

To take an online course, you must have an Internet email account and a computer with Internet access. Some courses may require special software (check the syllabus). Students enrolled in an online course are able to receive technical assistance by emailing nctcangel@nctc.edu.

Orientation is required for all online students. All online students are required to take "Orientation for Online Students." The orientation is in ANGEL. You will learn how to be a successful online student, discover the technical requirements for your computer, and learn to navigate the ANGEL system. Once you take the orientation and the orientation exam, you do not have to take it again. If you are enrolled in an online course, you will see the orientation listed in your list of courses. Please complete the orientation before beginning your courses.

PLEASE NOTE: All online students are required to have a current e-mail address for initial contact with the instructor. Please contact the Registrar's Office to update your email address.
