POFI2301 - Word Processing

In-depth coverage of word processing software application.  Demonstrate proficiency in word processing applications and producing business documents.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Identify word processing terminology and concepts.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in word processing applications.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work with text and graphics to create attractive, professional business documents. 

  • Demonstrate the ability to create styles, outlines, tables, and tables of contents.

  • Demonstrate the ability to integrate word processing software with other programs.

  • Demonstrate the ability to customize and automate his or her work by using templates, forms, and macros.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage long documents.

The student should expect to spend 10 to 15 hours per week reading course material, working through tutorials, and completing case problems. All quizzes and exams are administered online.

Students are expected to login to the course on the first day of class (January 20) and should purchase all course materials prior to the first day of class. Students must complete the NCTC Orientation for Online Students prior to accessing the course, but no later than January 20.
