It is protected and cherished by organizations.  Database Administrators (DBAs) have an essential role as the guardians of this data. 

Database administrators are essential to businesses as they make sure data systems operate efficiently by fine-tuning, upgrading, and testing modifications to the databases as needed. These professionals are employed in public and private sectors, and some work as consultants to organizations.

NCTC offers both an Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree in database administration and a one-year certificate in database management. The certificate will starts students on their path in this sensational career by teaching the fundamentals of web programming, Oracle, and contemporary database programs. The AAS degree provides a more in-depth study of the field. Both the degree and the certificate will assist students whether they plan to continue their education or launch their careers immediately after graduation.

Oracle Academy Institutional Membership

NCTC is an institutional member of Oracle Academy, a leader in database administration support tools.  As a member, students gain the skills, experience, and knowledge of the latest tools offered in the Database Administration technology field.

Training

Database Administrators are often certified for a specific database platform, such as MySQL Database Administrator, Oracle DBA and Microsoft Certified Database Administrator. NCTC offers lessons, lectures, textbooks, and labs to help students obtain those certifications and facilitates certification exams on campus. This program includes training in enterprise architecture, database concepts, SQP programming, and business intelligence.

How long does it take to earn a certificate or degree? add

The Database Administration certificate is designed to be completed in one year while the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree is set to conclude in two years. Students, however, may set their pace.

Are any of the courses offered online? add

Yes, courses in Database Administration are offered online in Canvas. Online courses are comparable to classroom courses, but courses may be attended at a time and place of the student’s choosing. Hybrid classes may also be available each semester. Check with the department for the current class schedule.
