Welcome back to NCTC! We’re excited to have you here as a student again. If you have been away two long semesters (Fall and Spring), you are considered a returning student and will need to follow the steps below. If you have already submitted some of these documents, please contact the Admissions Office to see what other documents, if any, will be required.


As a returning student, you will need to complete many of the following steps. Financial aid, housing, and scholarships are all optional resources!

Step Two: Submit Transcripts

Submit ALL transcripts from any colleges or universities attended after NCTC enrollment. Transcripts must be official; no faxed copies accepted. Electronic transcripts sent directly from the institution or third-party vendor are acceptable.

Step Three: Meningitis Vaccine

You may need an updated meningitis vaccine if your current vaccine was administered more than five years ago.

Step Four: Register for Classes

When you're cleared for registration, meet with an advisor to help decide your major and choose classes that will set you on the most successful pathway. Walk-ins are welcome at the Counseling & Testing Office.

Step Five: Apply for Financial Aid

One of the best ways of securing financial aid is to fill out the FAFSA online. The Financial Aid Office will help you find other resources to pay your expenses.

Step Six: Apply for Scholarships

You can search for and apply for scholarships online through our Scholarship Application Portal or contact the Financial Aid Office, the NCTC Foundation, or any academic department.

Step Seven: Apply for Housing

If you would like to live on-campus, housing is available on the Gainesville campus. Completed applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
