Meet our President
Dr. Brent Wallace arrived at North Central Texas College in August 2011 as Vice President of Instruction and Chief Academic Officer. As the Vice President of Instruction, Wallace is responsible for managing all instructional units for North Central Texas College including academic transfer, career and technical education, continuing education, adult education, adult basic education, libraries, and recently the addition of tutoring, Office of Students with disabilities, and TRIO Wallace in a native of West Texas where he attended high school and college. Wallace attended Hardin Simmons University, receiving numerous business scholarships and graduating with a Bachelor in Business Administration Degree in Marketing.
Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, Wallace initially began a career in business where he ultimately became a manager and corporate buyer for a large furniture company. Wallace then attended Abilene Christian University where he completed a Master of Arts in Human Communication and graduate certifications in conflict resolution and family dispute mediation. Wallace accepted a position as the Assistant to the Dean of the Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing, a consortium of Abilene Christian University, Hardin Simmons University and McMurry University. After a year, he was promoted to the Director of Student Services, serving all three universities nursing students and managing four offices while pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University, which he completed in 2010.
Dr. Wallace left Patty Hanks Shelton to become the Chair of Business Management and Administration at Cisco College. After several years as Chair he was promoted to Dean of Instruction where he served as administrator of all academics and multiple technical programs. Wallace continues to teach courses in speech communication.
Dr. Wallace came to NCTC with a research background in conflict and strategic planning in higher education. He has been a presenter at state and national higher education conferences and is a member of multiple state higher education groups including being President Elect of the Texas Community College Instructional Administrators, a member of the Board of Directors Texas Association of Career and Technical Educators and is a member of the Texas Community College Teachers Association.
