Jane England has a Masters of Arts degree in History and Art from the University of North Texas. In addition she has completed 60 graduate hours beyond the MA, 24 of which are in Art History and Textile Studies (weaving and paper making). She received two scholarships from the Contemporary Hand Weavers of Texas and her art has been included in numerous exhibitions. Jane teaches American History, History of Civilization, Humanities (Film Studies) and Art at NCTC.
She has an extensive background in European history, art and culture and has traveled to Italy several times. For example :Pat Ledbetter and Jane traveled to Southern Italy in May of 2007 to do research for the Study Abroad program. Additionally in the summer of 2007 Jane was selected to participate in the National Endowment for the Humanities Seminar entitled “Roman Religion in its Cultural Context.” She spent six weeks in Rome, Italy studying Ancient Roman art, history and religion with noted historians and archeologists.
In the Summer 2010 Study Abroad in Italy program she will teach ARTS 1303, Art History I and HIST2321, History of Civilization I.

Pat Ledbetter has a bachelor’s degree in literature from the University of Houston and a master’s and doctorate in history from the University of North Texas. In addition she holds a law degree from Texas Tech University and has 18 graduate hours in literature from the University of North Texas and Texas A&M, Commerce. For over thirty years, she has taught a variety of subjects including American history, World history, American literature, world literature, Humanities (human rights and film studies), and Legal Assisting. Throughout her career teaching at both the college level and in public secondary schools, she has encouraged her students to be active learners , so she appreciates the opportunity to conduct classes in an environment that enables students to learn directly from what they are seeing and doing.
Pat is an experienced traveler, having toured extensively in North and South America and Europe, as well as having visited African and Asian countries. She has traveled throughout Italy and studied the history and literature of that country.
In the Summer 2010 Study Abroad in Italy program she will teach ENGL 2332, World Literature I.
