Each student will enroll in at least one or two of these three courses, study content relevant to the selected discipline, and complete assignments specific to that field of study. However, the Study Abroad segment will focus on how the three disciplines interrelate with each other so that students see, for example, how history influences art and literature and how art and literature reflect the historical era in which they are produced. As we look into the foundations of Western society, we will study individuals and the times that shaped them and their works from an interdisciplinary perspective, developing an appreciation of our past that will enrich our understanding of the present.
A study of selected masterpieces of world literature from the ancient world through the Renaissance.
A general survey of the origins, development and significance of various cultures from prehistoric times to 1650; with special emphasis on Greco/Roman , Medieval, and Reniassance history.
A critical and analytical study of the great historical works of art in architecture, sculpture, painting, and minor arts from prehistoric times to the Renaissance; with special emphasis on Greco/Roman Medieval, and Italian Reniassance influences.
