| Dr.
Michael Linder, professor of music at NCTC since 1991,
is a musician known nationally both as a choral director
and singer. A graduate of Midwestern State University,
he holds the Doctorate of Musical Arts from Southwestern
Seminary, with additional study at the Vienna Academy
of music and Westminster Choir College. His choirs have
presented concerts in Carnegie Hall in New York; Washington
DC; Nashville, Tennessee; St. Louis; and internationally
in Germany, Austria, England, Ireland, and Scotland. He
has studied conducting with Robert Burton, Joseph Flummerfelt,
and Donald Nuen, and has sung under such eminent conductors
such as Robert Shaw, Charles Dutoit, and James Conlon.
As a vocalist, Dr. Linder has sung with the Robert Shaw
Festival Singers with concerts in Carnegie Hall. He has
studied voice with William Boland, Dr. Donald Maxwell
and Mr. Jack Coldiron. His professional affiliations include
the American Choral Directors, the Texas Choral Directors
Association, Texas Music Educators, and the National Association
for Teachers of Singing. |
