Gabrielle Fletcher is the Chair of the Fine Arts Department. She started her career at NCTC in 2003. She received her Master of Arts degree in English from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia and her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and music from the University of New Mexico.
Gabrielle grew up a military brat, traveling the world and visiting exotic places. She enjoyed the traveling so much that she married a military man! They retired from the Air Force after 22 years and now reside in rural Cooke County. Besides enjoying and exploring all of the unique places they have visited and lived, she also enjoys playing the clarinet and saxophone. She is a member of the Denton Community Concert Band, the Denton Community Jazz Band, and the Gainesville Swing Orchestra (GSO). Literature, especially William Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe, is another of her favorite indulgences: hence her cats named Puck & Poe.
Her past experiences in education and the arts include the following: Public school English teacher and college instructor, the director of Green Ridge School District Speech and Drama Program, and Drama Director for the Thomas Nelson Community College Players. Musically, she has played in the Hamont/Achel, Belgium Community Band; Albuquerque Concert Band; Warrensburg Community Band; Peninsula Wind Ensemble; and a German Polka Band.
