VERSAILLES

This is Versailles, home of Louis XIII. He built it and his son, Louis XIV, added to it. If built today, it would cost over a billion dollars. It is located about 40 minutes out of Paris.

This is a close-up of the front of Versailles.

This is a view from halfway down the garden walk as seen in the picture above. That is the back of Versailles in the distance.

 

This is the gardens to the back of the main building.
It is close to a mile long the gardens and pools extend to.

These are the gardens to the west side of the building.

This is the famous "Hall of Mirrors." The whole hallway is made up of wood floors with mirros that completely cover the walls. You can see chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The ceiling contains mirrors as well. The windows to the right gives you the view of the gardens shown in the picture above.
