| Economics
is the social science concerned with the efficient use of
scarce resources to achieve the maximum satisfaction of economic
wants. Economics 2302 explores the world of the business firm.
Economics 2302 builds upon a knowledge of consumer behavior
and utility maximization. This knowledge leads us to an understanding
of production costs. Different business models are explored:
pure competition, monopoly, monopolistic competition and oligopoly.
Social aspects of antitrust policy, poverty and health care
are studied.
Economics
2302 meets the General Education Core Curriculum, the General
Education for a Transfer-Based Associate Degree Core Curriculum,
and is a required course of all business majors at the university
level. |
