Computer
science is a part of the Math and Computer Science Department and is dedicated
to preparing students for success in academic transfer and in technical
degrees/certificates offered at North Central Texas College. The innovative
faculty, adjunct faculty and laboratory instructors strive to deliver
quality courses that prepare students with skills and knowledge necessary
for future success.
There are 2 full-time lecture faculty, 3 full-time laboratory instructors
and approximately 4 adjunct lecture faculty and 3 adjunct laboratory instructors
in computer science. The adjunct faculty and adjunct instructors are an
integral part of computer science and bring valuable work-related experiences,
innovative work skills, current applications, and varied approaches to
education in the classroom.
Computer science has three up to date computer laboratories equipped
with 20 high-speed computers each and staffed with well-trained knowledgeable
instructors in modern computer software. These laboratories provide the
hands-on experience necessary for students to gain full understanding
of how the software functions in real application environments.
In addition to the quality courses, knowledgeable faculty, and modern
computer equipment that await you, opportunities for scholarships and
part-time work are often available.
