Dr. Michael Linder is professor of music and director of choral activities, as well as music program coordinator for North Central Texas College. He has taught at NCTC since 1991 and is recognized nationally both as a conductor and singer.
A graduate of Midwestern State University, Dr. Linder holds the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from Southwestern Baptist Seminary, with additional study at the Vienna Academy of Music and Westminster Choir College. His choirs have sung all over the United States and Europe. Dr. Linder made his Carnegie Hall conducting debut in the summer of 1994 directing the Texas Festival Chorus in a performance of the Beethoven Mass in C Major. Internationally, his choirs have sung in England, Ireland, Scotland, France(including a performance at Notre Dame Cathedral), Germany, Austria and the Czek Republic.
Dr. Linder has studied conducting under Robert Burton, Joseph Flummerfelt, and Donald Nuen and has sung under such conductors as Robert Shaw, Charles Dutoit, James Conlon, Andre Previn, Sir Neville Marinner, Peter Schrierer, and Helmut Rilling. His professional affliations include American Choral Directors Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.
