Bio
I have been in the horse industry for over 25 years as a Judge, Breeder, Trainer, Showman and Clinician. I grew up in Colorado were my mother introduced me to horses at an early age and enrolled me in 4-H. I advanced from 4-H to riding Hunter/Jumpers and Dressage. I enrolled in classes at Colorado State University believing I wanted to be a veternarian, but was quickly drawn to riding again when I discovered they had an equine program. I graduated in 1987 with a B.S. in Equine Science. While attending CSU I gained interest in judging and discovered I could train horses for a career. I trained my first horse for money in 1984 and turned to full time training in 1990. I have competed in a wide variety of classes during my professional career, everything from Halter to Reining. In 2000 I decided I wanted to give back to the industry what the industry had given me, recognition for a job well done. Judging was the way to "pass the torch". Since receiving my AQHA and NSBA cards, I have judged numerous times abroad and have officiated such noted events as the Tom Powers Futurity and the Scottsdale Classic. I now teach full time for NCTC on the Gainesville campus and coach the Western and English IHSA Show Teams as well as the Ranch Horse Team.
