EMSP1261 CLINICAL I– EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN/ PARAMEDIC

A method of instruction providing detailed education, training and work-based experience, and direct patient/client care, generally at a clinical site. Specific detailed learning objectives are developed for each

course by the faculty. On-site clinical instruction, supervision, evaluation, and placement are the responsibility of the college faculty. Clinical experiences are unpaid external learning experiences. Course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary.

 

EMSP1338 INTRODUCTION TO ADVANCED PRACTICE

At the completion of this module, the student will understand the roles and responsibilities of a paramedic within the EMS system; apply the basic concepts of development, pathophysiology and pharmacology to assessment and management of emergency patients; be able to properly administer medications; communicate effectively with patients; and understand the medical/legal and ethical issues relating to EMS practice as well as the issues impacting

the well being of the paramedic.

EMSP2135 ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT

Skill development for EMS personnel practicing on a critical care paramedic ambulance. Establishes a systematic approach for management of the patient experiencing cardiac difficulties according to American Heart Association protocols.

 

 

EMSP2544 CARDIOLOGY

A detailed study of the knowledge and skills necessary to reach competence in the assessment and management of patients with cardiac emergencies.

EMSP2434 MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

A detailed study of the knowledge and skills necessary to reach competence in the assessment and management of

patients with medical emergencies.
