The Esthetician program, or non-medical care of the skin, provides the knowledge and skills a person will need in the health and beauty industry. The classes include basic skin care, and facials to advanced facial techniques such as chemical peels, make-up applications, microdermabrasion, waxing and other spa related treatments.
Classes are held from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Thursday and Fridays 8am to 3pm. A modern learning environment with all the latest equipment is provided for lab instruction and client services. During various times of study, we offer field trips to salons, aesthetic shows, and other educational events. Students attend the International Congress of Aesthetics held in Dallas each Spring.
A total of 28 credit hours and 750 clock hours are required to complete this program and it requires approximately 32 weeks. The student is then prepared to take the licensing exam required by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to become an Esthetician.
A broad range of career opportunities exist for the professional esthetician from employment in spas, salons and/or health and wellness centers, to product representatives or skin consultants working in conjunction with dermatologists. The entrepreneurial esthetician is often self-employed or employed on a consulting basis in a wide range of settings.
Students accept clients by appointment or as a walk-in, if time permits. Call for a list of available services and pricing.
